Block F Shiraz
Wine
Heathcote Estate Block F Shiraz is a Single Block release, made only when a parcel of estate fruit stands out as a clear expression of its individual character and origins.
Block F, planted in 1999, grows in deep, rich red Cambrian soils strewn with greenstone (copper infused basalt) rocks throughout.
The fruit is handpicked and gently destemmed. Fermentation occurs in traditional open fermenters with some whole bunch inclusion. Once pressed, the wine is transferred into new and seasoned French oak puncheons.
It undergoes malolactic fermentation and around 12 months of maturation, racked twice. The wine is then prepared for bottling.
Bright crimson, Heathcote Estate Block F Shiraz is intensely concentrated yet vibrant with a silky texture and long finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
